MICA
Sericite - (K Al2 Si4O10 (OH2) - Potassium Aluminium Silicate
It is a natural, fine-grained mineral which is affiliated to Mica group and it is a hydro-potassium alumina silicate. It has excellent thinness with very fine particle size. It is especially used as a strength and hiding enhancer in paint and mould lubricant in rubber industry, melting agent in welding electrode and resistance enhancer in plastic. It has heat resistance up to 500 ° C, high elasticity and wear resistance, it is hard to dissolve in acid and alkali solution and it has 200kv / mm electrical isolation and anti-radioactive property. It is manufactured in micron and granule sizes.
- Mica in thermoplastics
By directly affecting the mechanical properties; It reduces thermal expansion coefficient and prevents shrinkage. This, in turn, provides dimensional stability. It increases both tensile and bending strength and chemical resistance by showing barrier effect. Thanks to its laminated structure, the increase in elastic modulus also affects the impact strength positively.
- Mica in Paint
Again, it increases the crack resistance, UV resistance and corrosion resistance thanks to its barrier effect. It provides chemical and thermal stability. It provides better adhesion of the paint to the applied surfaces with its low friction coefficient feature. It prevents combustion with low thermal conductivity. It helps increase of the viscosity.
